Our Story

At Next Century Sailing, we believe every young person should have a safe and inspiring way to experience life on the water. Since our founding in 2024, we've worked to make that vision a reality for youth across Houston.

As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we focus on what keeps programs afloat — literally. We own and maintain the training vessels used by local Sea Scout units and other youth organizations. Our fundraising covers everything from boat registration, insurance, and rigging to paint, epoxy, oil, and gas.

We're proud to partner with Houston-area Sea Scout Ships and to support other Scouting units that share our commitment to maritime adventure and youth leadership. Together, we're building the next generation of safe, confident mariners.

Our Mission

To inspire youth through high-adventure water activities, leadership training, safety education, and community service. We aim to foster confidence, responsibility, and a sense of belonging among young people, preparing them to support their communities and respect the environment.

Our Vision

A Houston community where waterways are enjoyed safely by youth who have the skills, equipment, and confidence to participate in aquatics activities. We envision a future where no young person misses out on maritime education because of a lack of seaworthy vessels or safety gear.
